Athenium proudly announces the engagement of retired U.S. Army Colonel Cary C. Harbaugh as a Strategic Advisor. In this role, Col. Harbaugh will counsel Athenium's leadership across the defense, specialized technology and strategic cross-border sectors, drawing on more than four decades of service in the U.S. special operations and intelligence communities.
The engagement extends Athenium's long-standing alignment with the national-security mission. Originally founded as a portfolio company of In-Q-Tel — the venture fund serving the CIA and the broader U.S. Intelligence Community — Athenium has built a track record of addressing the government's most demanding mission-support needs through granular weather, hazard and infrastructure analytics. Colonel Harbaugh's operational and intelligence experience strengthens the company's ability to translate those capabilities into decision advantage for defense and federal partners.
"As a former senior intelligence officer at SOCOM, Col. Harbaugh brings a rare combination of operational depth, intelligence expertise, and strategic judgment that maps directly to the missions our technology supports," said Jim Greenwell, Athenium’s CEO. "His perspective will help us serve our defense and federal customers with even greater precision as the demands on risk and operational intelligence continue to grow."
"Athenium sits at the intersection of data, technology, and mission — the same intersection where I spent much of my career," said Colonel Cary C. Harbaugh (U.S. Army, Ret.). "I look forward to helping the team apply its capabilities where they can have the greatest strategic impact.”
