Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
For nearly 20 years, Bill has been active in acquiring and building data analytics and visualization technologies to serve the Insurance sector and also the U.S. Intelligence and Security Communities. Bill organized Weather Analytics LLC in 2012 to deliver decision-support solutions drawing from the world’s largest and most granular collection of web-enabled atmospheric, soil and topographical information.
A Harvard Law graduate, Bill began his legal career as an insurance defense attorney. He later served as President & CEO at online information provider LexisNexis in the United States and Europe and as Chief Global Product Officer. In 1999, Bill founded the Insurance practice and Risk Solutions groups at LexisNexis, which now operates in 175 countries.
Bill left LexisNexis to join Gartner Inc. as President of Gartner Intelligence, the global IT research firm, and later founded Qbase LLC, a data management and analytics company with operations in the U.S. and the Middle East. Bill’s M&A work has included acquiring software and information businesses from Nokia and from The Financial Times. Bill co-founded the strategic advisory and investment firm Voyant Partners, where he spearheaded the acquisition of a geo-spatial patent portfolio and its subsequent sale to Samsung. Earlier in his career, Bill directed marketing for The Washington Post and worked as a journalist with The Associated Press.
Vice Chair & Executive Vice President
Beverly has broad-ranging leadership and general management experience in multi-billion-dollar enterprises, start-ups and turnaround situations. Her leadership roles include being a partner at investment and advisory services firm Voyant Partners; SVP of Global Sales and Customer Support for MarketResearch.com, Co-Founder and SVP of Qbase, and Chief Marketing Officer/SVP of Gartner, Inc.
Beverly was also part of many pioneering projects during her 22 years with LexisNexis, a leading global provider of content-enabled workflow solutions including co-founding their Risk Solutions business. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Evansville, Indiana.
President & Chief Technology Officer
Tom brings over 25 years of experience in software companies ranging from Network management to on-line Education. As a graduate of MIT and Dartmouth College, he has been an executive officer and board member, and held CTO, COO and CFO roles in both startups and publicly traded companies. Tom’s work passion involves getting great products out to market, and supporting teams from every part of the company to help customers succeed.
Ellen Cousins, PhD
Chief Science Officer
Dr. Cousins joined the Weather Analytics team after her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado where she did research applying data mining and machine learning techniques to extract information from in situ and remotely-sensed geospatial observations.
Dr. Cousins has a Ph.D in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College where her primary concentrations were in Space Physics and Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation. While at Dartmouth she was awarded a NASA Space Grant Graduate Research Award for research in her field.
Chief Product & Operating Officer
Jordan has held a wide range of responsibilities at Athenium Analytics since joining the company in July of 2013. As a meteorologist, Jordan led the development of data-powered solutions relating to upper-atmospheric wind analyses, and other weather conditions, for the U.S. Intelligence Community. Since then, Jordan has led project management, product development, and account management – including management of the company’s largest and most strategic clients – as the company grew to offer solutions for the insurance industry.
Jordan graduated Summa Cum Laude from NC State University with an B.S. in Meteorology, followed by an M.S. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Chief Financial Officer
With over 20 years of experience in high-tech and software companies, Audra is a trusted finance professional with extensive operational experience. Before joining as CFO at Athenium Analytics, Audra was the CFO at Crimson Hexagon, responsible for the strategic direction of the FP&A, Accounting and IT departments. Audra is unique as a finance professional in that she has also lead Customer Success. At Percussion Software, Audra was the senior financial professional for the Company, serving as VP Finance for over 10 years.
She then transitioned to serve as their VP of Customer Success, responsible for customer on-boarding and support, customer retention and annual renewals. Additionally, she helped to build and improve Percussion’s technical team to cover technical support, training/coaching, implementation services and custom application development.
Audra has held various other financial positions with Spacetec IMC Corporation, Marathon Technologies and Presstek. She began her financial career as a CPA with EY.
Audra graduated from Boston University with a BS in Chemistry Education and an MBA in Accounting.
Vice President, Market & Corporate Development
Kyle brings marketing expertise and a proven track record of helping companies attract new customers by crafting & targeting compelling value propositions. Prior to joining Athenium Analytics, Kyle led marketing and communications at an energy startup that was working to redefine how nuclear energy could fit into the 21st century energy mix. He has also previously worked across insurance & financial services and is passionate about helping carriers solve their most pressing problems.
He holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business.
Jim lead the client services, sales, and marketing efforts for legacy Athenium. Jim has over two decades of experience in software development and professional services with a strong focus on learning and collaborative systems. Jim started his career with Digital Equipment Corporation as a software engineer. Subsequent positions have included work in consulting, training, and project management. He now is the Co-Founder of Athenium Analytics.
Jim graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Computer Science.
Joe previously served as President and CEO of legacy Athenium. He has been intimately involved in the company’s success over the past 15 years by driving their product and technology innovation, in addition to leading the day-to-day operations and long-term direction. His expertise and experience in the insurance industry has led him to his current role as Co-Founder of Athenium Analytics.
Joe graduated from UMass Amherst with a BS in Computer Science.
