Software Quality Control Engineer

Athenium Analytics is seeking a motivated Software Quality Control Engineer to work on our team. If you have a solid education and/or experience in software testing and are passionate about producing high-quality, web-based software products, then we welcome you to apply for this position.

We have a solid team ethic and are looking for someone who enjoys collaboration. The ideal candidate will have prior hands-on testing experience in medium-to-large scale web applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the key aspects of application software testing which include:
    • Automation of software and performance testing using Selenium, JMeter, and other tools as necessary
    • Manual testing of various aspects of multiple web applications and APIs (including regression, functional, integration, etc.)
    • Task tracking through Jira
  • Collaborate with Product, Application, and Data Science teams to define appropriate testing strategies and procedures required to produce high-quality software products
  • Work closely with other QA engineers to manage defect backlogs and priorities using Jira

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline with at least 4 years of overall work experience, or Masters degree in a technical discipline with at least 2 years of work experience; relevant work experience is considered in lieu of an advanced degree
  • Required:
    • At least 2 years of experience in web application testing
    • At least 1 year of experience working with Selenium for automation of web application testing
    • Experience working with complex SQL
    • Strong understanding of functional, integration, and user acceptance testing methodologies
    • Experience working with issue tracking systems such as Jira in an Agile environment

Preferred qualifications

Preferred candidates will have experience with the following technologies:

  • Programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, Python, and shell scripting
  • Markup technologies/data formats such as HTML, XML, and JSON
  • Source control such as Git and CVS
  • Microsoft Excel macros
  • Diff tools (command line diff, WinMerge, etc.)
  • Load/stress testing with JMeter
  • API testing with Postman

Work location

This full-time position is remote with optional office space available in Dover, NH.
