What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be an astronaut. Sadly, after finding out I needed to be at least 5’4” to be a pilot in the Air Force, my dreams were shattered.

What was your very first job?

I was a lifeguard.

What was the most challenging part of getting to where you are today?

In college, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. I started out a French major, then Political Science and then International Business. After taking a few years off, I went back to school and thought I’d study Marketing or Management. But after taking a couple of Economics and Statistics classes, I was hooked. Finding something you love and are passionate about is really important.

What is one leadership lesson you’ve learned in your career?

Try to keep things simple. If it is too complicated and people do not understand, you will never get the buy-in you need.

Do you have any advice for women pursuing their career in Economics?

Don’t do things because it is what is expected, do things because you are passionate about it. You will be good at the things that you have a passion for and people will respect it, even if they don’t agree.

What made you interested in working for Athenium Analytics?

The people and the creativity.  I was an Athenium Analytics customer prior to joining the team and one of my favorite things was working on special projects with Athenium Analytics. Everyone was so creative and passionate about improving our products.

What are your interests/hobbies outside of work?

Zumba, hiking and traveling with my children.

What is your favorite book/podcast/movie?

I love Star Wars – The Empire Strikes Back specifically. I also really love the Harry Potter movies and books.

Stay tuned for more insights from inspiring women at Athenium Analytics!
